President Bola Tinubu's administration has sparked debate with the proposal of significant allocations in the 2023 supplementary budget. 

Among the notable items is a staggering N5.095 billion set aside for the acquisition of a presidential yacht. 

The budget has cleared the second reading at the House of Representatives.

In addition to this, the Nigerian Navy has tabled a capital expenditure of ₦42.3 billion and a recurrent expenditure of ₦20.42 billion. 

This includes the substantial allocation for the presidential yacht, a move that has raised eyebrows given the pressing issues of poverty and hardship facing the nation.

The budget also earmarks N19.3 billion for the purchase of vehicles for the President.

As well as renovations to the President's and Vice President's lodges in both Abuja and Lagos.

Another N3 billion is allocated for the "acquisition, renovation and rehabilitation of two Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) fortified quarters
