NDLEA Apprehends Drug Traffickers Concealing Narcotics at Abuja Airport
In a significant crackdown, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended two businessmen at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

For attempting to smuggle cocaine and heroin. The suspects, en route to Hong Kong and France, ingeniously concealed the narcotics within their bodies.

Femi Babafemi, Director of NDLEA Media and Advocacy, disclosed these details in a statement released on Sunday. 

According to the statement, Emenike, aged 38, expelled 72 wraps of heroin weighing 1.171 kilograms after days in custody. 

Similarly, Chidike, 41, excreted 49 pellets of cocaine, amounting to 998.53 grams.

Emenike was apprehended at the boarding gate of the Abuja airport on October 20th while preparing to board Air France flight 818 to Paris.

On the following day, Chidike was taken into custody while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 950 to Hong Kong via Addis Ababa.

Both were detained after scans revealed they had ingested illicit drugs. Chidike, who identified himself as a businessman.

Dealing in spare parts at the Alaba International market in Lagos, claimed he was promised a payment of N3.5 million for importing goods from Hong Kong.

In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos intercepted 

Agbo Clestine Tochukwu, a passenger bound for Oman via Qatar Airways.

Tochukwu was found with 58 parcels of skunk weighing 29.10kg. He stated that he had been working as a hotel attendant in Oman since May before turning to drug trafficking. 

Meanwhile, in Ondo state, a total of 2,197 kilograms of skunk were seized in four operations within four days. 

On October 25th, 1,165.5kg were seized in Uso, Owo LGA, while a consignment of 691kg was recovered from Ukugu forest in Ipele on October 24th.

In Ogbese, Akure North LGA, Ifeanyi Abuguja, 32, was arrested with 87kg of the same substance on October 23rd. 

On October 26th, 253.5kg were recovered at Ogbese market in Akure North LGA.

In Oyo state, Ayo Dele, 19, and Olaitan Ahmed, 23, were arrested with 160 grams of cannabis in Ibadan on October 22nd. 

A subsequent operation at their warehouse led to the recovery of 332kgs of the same substance. 

In Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercepted a vehicle loaded with 209kg of Loud at Okun Ajah on October 23rd.

In Gombe, 401 blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 392kg and 21,000 capsules of tramadol were recovered at Tumfure area on October 28th.

Today, in Edo state, NDLEA operatives raided the Utese forest in Ovia North East LGA, evacuating a total of 2,931.3 kilograms of cannabis sativa from a warehouse in the forest.
