Labour Party Responds to Supreme Court Ruling on Election Petition

The Labour Party's Presidential Campaign Council has issued a statement following the Supreme Court's decision.

On the petitions filed regarding Bola Tinubu's victory in the February election. The spokesperson for the Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko.

Emphasized that their candidate, Peter Obi, presented a compelling case, but it appeared that the court did not align with their viewpoint.

The apex court, situated in Abuja, recently dismissed the petitions put forth by Peter Obi, the LP presidential candidate.

And his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Atiku Abubakar. This verdict confirmed President Bola Tinubu's win in the February 25 presidential poll.

Tanko, in a phone conversation with PUNCH, expressed their perspective, stating, “We believe our case was solid, but the court chose a different perspective. They have made their decision."

He affirmed their commitment to democratic values, asserting that they would engage with the public and citizens of Nigeria.

To gauge their sentiments on the judgment and the current state of leadership. Tanko reiterated that their request for Tinubu's disqualification was rooted in their belief.
